worth worrying about

About

Worth Worrying About answers the big money, housing and work questions with real data, one careful page at a time.

The honest second opinion

Big decisions arrive early in adult life: whether to buy a home, whether to pay off a loan or invest, whether to move abroad. The loudest answers come from social media, from people selling something, and from headlines built to worry you. This site runs the numbers instead, and tells you what they say for you.

Each question gets one page: the research, written for every reader, and a tool that turns your own situation into a verdict, with its working shown. The name is the promise. Sometimes a worry is worth having, and sometimes it isn’t; we try to say which, and why.

Who makes it

Worth Worrying About is an independent side project by Peter Nistrup. How each verdict is worked out, sourced and checked is on the method page.

Independence

The site is self-funded. There are no ads, no partners and no referral links, and no verdict is sponsored. Nothing on it depends on you buying a product, a home or a course. If that ever changes, the page it affects will say so.

What we collect

Nothing you type. Your answers in a tool stay on the page you’re reading: they aren’t stored in your browser, sent to us or passed to anyone else, and they’re gone when you leave. We count visits with Cloudflare’s analytics, which uses no cookies and never sees what you type. If you pick light or dark with the switch in the top bar, your browser remembers that pick, and nothing else.
